About The Position
The facility is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of Inpatient Psychiatry in Shelton, CT. Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry; eligible for Connecticut medical licensure.
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical psychiatry experience preferred, including prior leadership or administrative experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and direction for the inpatient psychiatry program.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and treatment planning.
- Supervise and mentor attending psychiatrists, residents, and multidisciplinary clinical staff.
- Collaborate with hospital administration to develop and implement policies, protocols, and quality initiatives.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices in patient safety and behavioral health care.
- Participate in strategic planning and program development to enhance patient care services.
- Foster a collaborative environment among psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, and case managers.
