Job Summary The Medical Director of Psychiatry leads and provides clinical care to service line(s) in the department of Behavioral Health Services (BHS). This role supervises other physicians and clinicians both clinically and administratively. Duties include managing call schedules, approving timecards, providing feedback on job performance, and overseeing clinical and operational metrics related to quality, safety, productivity, finances, and other relevant metrics and targets. Additionally, this role will manage and coach staff to meet targets within these metrics and to provide departmental leaders with regular updates on the progress toward meeting targets in these metrics. Recruits new clinicians and works collaboratively with nursing and operational leaders to provide excellent clinical care and a safe work environment. Provides expert assessment and clinical psychiatric care including diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex, co-occurring medical, psychiatric and substance use disorders; homelessness, poverty, and treatment-resistance. Provides teaching and scholarly work in their area of expertise.
