About The Position

Tellurian Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced and visionary physician leader to serve as Part-Time Medical Director for Addiction Medicine and Mental Health Services. Requirements

  • MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of combined clinical and administrative experience in addiction medicine and behavioral health
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a healthcare organization (e.g., department, division, or treatment center)
  • Experience developing and implementing performance management systems in complex settings
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of insurance reimbursement, coding practices, and Wisconsin behavioral health regulations
  • Familiarity with DHS 75 licensing and certification requirements
  • Active Wisconsin Medical License (or eligibility)
  • Board-Certified Psychiatrist
  • Addiction Medicine certification preferred

  • Fellowship training in Addiction Medicine
  • Board Certification in Preventive Medicine (Addiction Medicine)
  • Advanced training in healthcare leadership or management (e.g., MPH, MBA, MMM, or leadership fellowship)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive, evidence-based programs addressing substance use and mental health disorders
  • Expand access to integrated services, including prevention, treatment, recovery support, and crisis intervention
  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical quality, patient safety, and measurable outcomes
  • Provide oversight of medical services and multidisciplinary teams, including clinical protocols, care pathways, and regulatory compliance
  • Foster a culture of excellence through mentorship, provider development, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Lead community education and outreach efforts to reduce stigma and increase awareness of behavioral health conditions
  • Participate in clinical coverage as part of the leadership team
