About The Position

Join STERIS and help healthcare teams deliver safer patient care by collaborating with hospitals and life science partners worldwide to keep vital medical equipment operating at peak performance. This remote, customer-facing role involves starting from home, reviewing your schedule, and traveling to hospitals in a company vehicle. You will diagnose issues on STERIS and competitor devices, perform preventive maintenance, complete repairs, and document all activities in digital platforms to meet regulatory and service requirements. The role requires coordinating with Tech Support, Engineering, or Service Contract Management for complex challenges. You will communicate options, timing, and pricing with customers, identify opportunities to enhance their experience, and coordinate with Sales when appropriate. The position supports multiple facilities across an assigned territory, requiring residence in California, with autonomous scheduling to manage various duties including PMs, service calls, warranty work, installations, and field upgrades.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED plus 4+ years of work experience, including 2+ years in a mechanical/technical role.
  • Valid driver’s license, and ability to meet background and physical assessments for vendor credentialing (new and existing).
  • Experience collaborating with customers and teams; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Windows, email, navigation, mobile apps; entering data across multiple systems).
  • Flexibility for early/late hours and potential overnights based on customer and business needs.

  • An associate degree, relevant certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may count toward the technical requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain STERIS and competitor equipment, systems, and components.
  • Own your calendar: prioritize customer/business needs to meet deadlines and SLAs.
  • Use advanced technology platforms to complete compliance steps and to record/resolve technical issues.
  • Present repair options and pricing, and collaborate with Sales—with manager support—to elevate customer experience and uncover revenue opportunities.
  • Support various customer locations within the territory as contracts and needs dictate.
