About The Position

Surmodics Services & Technologies ("SurmodicsST") (formerly Biocoat) is committed to providing the best in developing, manufacturing, and applying coatings on medical devices. We are looking for a Medical Device Coatings Technician to take our manufactured coating and apply it to medical devices using a machine process. This associate would be required to follow all safety guidelines to complete the detailed coating steps.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • 1-2 years’ experience preferred in a manufacturing, process development or production environment
  • Critical Skills: ability to successfully mix materials, read and understand product specifications and operating procedures for various manufacturing machines
  • Ability to measure and inspect products/materials and clearly document all activities
  • Capable to conduct performance testing on coated devices
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently complete tasks with consistency and accuracy, often under pressure and/or short deadlines
  • Detail oriented, highly organized, capable of completing high quality work
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with co-workers as well as work independently
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft package, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medical devices for coating per customer and quality guidelines. Measurement conversions required to complete part of this task.
  • Arrange devices in the machine, monitor device movements throughout the machine process, unload devices and visually inspect for defects.
  • Create labels and package the final product for shipment.
  • Assist in resolving equipment issues alongside your team.
  • Write coating procedures and/or other work instructions.
  • Record materials used and collect data during the coating process.
