About The Position

This Medical Courier – Specialty position is primarily focused on in-house specimen pack-out at the San Leandro hub, with occasional pick-ups in the surrounding area. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required. At Quest Diagnostics, this role is crucial for advancing healthcare by ensuring life-saving diagnostics reach patients quickly and safely. The courier acts as the face of diagnostic services, responsible for accurate and timely delivery of tests. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license with less than three moving violations within the past three years
  • Great customer service and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with reliable documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the road
  • Comfortable using mobile devices or scanning tools
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and be on the move for much of your shift

Nice To Haves

  • Prior medical, customer service, courier, or logistics experience is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens and lab materials; may be asked to cover additional routes as needed
  • Communicate professionally with doctors, nurses, and lab staff to ensure timely deliveries
  • Safely operate a company-provided vehicle (non-CDL)
  • Use handheld scanners, route software, and mobile apps to track deliveries
  • Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, storage, and documentation
  • Comply with all DOT, HIPAA, OSHA, and internal safety standards
  • Complete office and logistics operations tasks as needed, including training team members, packing and shipping specimens for flights, and other related duties
