The Medical Coordinator position is responsible for arranging and coordinating appropriate health services, including urgent and preventative health services, for children in care. This includes maintaining complete and confidential medical records for children, ensuring appropriate communication with health needs to case managers, clinicians, and other team members. The position schedules appointments, coordinating transportation, and may assist as needed to health care appointments and ensuring qualified translation/interpretation services are in place. He/she also serves as a liaison for community health care providers. He/she operates under the supervision of the Lead Medical Coordinator (LMC) but may fill in when the LMC is not available. The Senior Medical Assistant handles incoming calls timely and efficiently, takes accurate and appropriate messages, and assists and greets children/youth in a friendly and courteous manner. Obtain, compile, and maintain medical files on each admission. Ensure proper daily documentation in the ORR database, UAC Portal, and maintain a hard copy of the required documents and medical records. Assists other departments with various duties as needed.
