This position is onsite for first 90 days for training and integration with a potential for a hybrid schedule once training is complete.

Requirements

  • Medical Billing:  2-3 years’ experience.
  • Relevant medical billing experience or medical office administration, with a strong understanding of the revenue cycle process
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and coding systems such as CPT, ICD-10, and HCPS codes
  • Hands on experience and working knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and billing platforms
  • Proficient computer skills, experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of medical collection procedures and best practices for resolving claim denials efficiently
  • Ability to interpret complex insurance policies and ensure accurate claim submission in accordance with industry standards
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to prevent errors in billing processes
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, State programs, and Commercial Payers
  • Professional communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and patients
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, with or without accommodation

  • Behavioral health familiarity preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Conduct insurance verification and interpret benefit plans
  • Run batch and real-time eligibility checks (270/271)
  • Create billing batches and scrub claims prior to submission
  • Process electronic claims (837, 999, 277)
  • Post payments (835 – electronic and manual)
  • Follow up on denied claims and manage appeals
  • Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by the supervisor
