Important: This position requires a Level 2 background screening through Florida's Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as a condition of employment, pursuant to Chapters 408 and 435, Florida Statutes. https://ahca.myflorida.com/health-quality-assurance/bureau-of-central-services/background-screening/clearinghouse [https://ahca.myflorida.com/health-quality-assurance/bureau-of-central-services/background-screening/clearinghouse] Snapshot of key accountabilities of the Medical Assistant: • Conduct patient intake, including medical and social histories, and perform STI screenings and point-of-care testing. • Educate patients in a non-directive manner on birth control options and pregnancy-related services, supporting informed decision-making. • Ensure exam rooms are properly prepped and sanitized between patients, and assist with basic clinical tasks and lab work in accordance with medical standards. • Provide excellent patient service aligned with Planned Parenthood’s values of respect, equity, and inclusion. • Accurately maintain patient records and documentation while upholding confidentiality and compliance standards. • Support the daily operations of the health center through cross-functional collaboration, flexibility, and accountability. Float Position Details: • This is a float role supporting both the Florida Mango and Port St. Lucie health centers. • Schedule may vary week to week based on operational needs. • Candidates can expect a combination of shifts across both locations, for example, consistent days such as Wednesdays in Treasure Coast and Saturdays in Florida Mango, with additional days varying (e.g., 1–3 days per week in Treasure Coast depending on need). • This position is hired to support both locations; therefore, travel between assigned health centers is expected and mileage reimbursement is not provided. Experience/Education of the Medical Assistant: • High School graduate or equivalent. • A minimum of one (1) year of experience or equivalent. • Medical care and reproductive rights experience helpful. • Experience in dealing with the public. • The ability to learn ultrasound, procedural assistance and AB lab as well as other skill enhancements at the discretion of the affiliate. • Must have a strong understanding of and personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and responsibilities of Planned Parenthood. • Excellent organizational, communication and sound decision-making skills. • Must have a commitment to efficiency and quality. • Must be comfortable when discussing sexuality, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy options. • Ability to recognize and function appropriately in sensitive situations. • Previous experience working with Microsoft Office suite is preferred. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
