About The Position

General Summary: We are searching for a full-time Back Office Medical Assistant for an Orthopedic setting. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while delivering excellent patient care. Essential Job Functions: Room patients Assist with examinations and routine procedures, including minor surgery. Remove staples/sutures Complete Meaningful Use Answer patient phone calls Prepare Injections Obtain authorization for treatment requests for HMO, WC, and PPO Obtain patient estimates and communicate insurance coverage information to patients. Responsible for obtaining necessary waivers related to treatment and/or supplies. Communicate with your Physician and team Stock/clean exam rooms Prepare for clinic Autoclave Cross-Trained for Front Desk coverage Expectations Maintain confidentiality. Follow the chain of commands. Prioritize tasks by level of importance to meet deadlines. Complete tasks in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Knowledge: Medical Assistants should have a good working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations set by state, federal, and local law.
  • Understanding of EPM/EHR system.
  • Skills: Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
  • Skill in analyzing, planning, organization, and prioritization.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Abilities: Ability to read and interpret medical documents.
  • Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
  • Ability to interact easily and effectively with others.
  • Ability to share expertise and knowledge with staff to maintain and improve workflow.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients and/or co-workers.
  • Ability to Commute: Orange and Irvine,CA (Required)
  • Ability to Relocate: Orange County. Relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science and/or certification in Athletic Training preferred.
  • Experience in an Orthopaedic Practice preferred.
