About The Position

A Medical assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. This MA role includes vitals/intake, ECGs, and scribing for physicians - medical terminology, and keyboarding skills are critical to success in this position. Effective Communication: Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. Team Collaboration: Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care. Attention to detail and follow-through are key components in helping to provide the care that is needed.

Requirements

  • Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
  • Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
  • Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
  • Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA
