Medical Assistant - UroGyn - Anderson Medical Pavilion Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman Required Certification/Registration: BLS by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Located in La Jolla at the Anderson Medical Pavilion with travel to other sites 1-2 times per week (generally Encinitas and Hillcrest). The primary location is at La Jolla but the surgeons also see patients in Encinitas and Rancho Bernardo as they feel it is imperative to offer their services across the county given their specialized skill set. Patients and surgeons appreciate the Medical Assistants traveling with them to provide continuity of care. What you'll do: Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the physician Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
