As our Medical Assistant at Dignity Health Medical Group, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiative and Dignity Health, you’ll keep the day running smoothly and efficiently for your patients and clinical team. You’ll take the lead on proactively preparing patient charts- ensuring all information is obtained and up-to-date for those seen in our facility. You can expect to have multiple patients daily depending on the number of physicians are on-site. Your success in this role comes from your enthusiasm to help others, work efficiently, and your empathy for our patients - not your previous experience in healthcare. A Medical Assistant II provides basic level of patient care and treatments. Assists with obtaining vital signs, documents chief complaint and all actions taken. Alerts physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities Assists with obtaining patient history, assists physicians and residents and/or licensed nursing personnel. Performs simple patient procedures, sets up exam/procedure rooms including instruments for minor procedures, prepares and may include administrating medications (excluding IV) under direct supervision of a physician. Obtains lab specimen and fills out requisitions completely and accurately. In addition to the above, the Medical Assistant II functions more independently and coordinates the workflow of MAs when necessary. Obtains authorization for referral (normally in small clinics). Conducts front desk duties such as registration, check-in and scheduling of patients. Dignity Health now offers an Education Benefit program for benefit-eligible employees after 180 days. This program provides debt relief and student loan assistance to help you achieve your goals. Full-time employees can receive up to $18,000 over five years, while part-time employees can receive up to $9,000.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and a graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
  • Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours to satisfy the minimum education requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification - Nat'l
  • Previous MA experience highly preferred.
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience
  • Previous experience in designated specialty
  • Bilingual skills
