About The Position

Medical Assistant LPN or EMT – NeurosurgeryFull Time 1.0 FTE | Days Schedule Details: Day shift hours 0700–1530. Hours may vary within this timeframe. Monday through Friday. No weekends, holidays, or nights. Join ProHealth Care’s Neurosurgery team and support patients receiving advanced surgical care for complex neurological conditions. Our providers specialize in the treatment of brain and spine disorders, including degenerative spine disease, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, tumors, traumatic brain injury, and other intricate neurological conditions. This is an opportunity to work in a true specialty environment alongside neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, and a highly collaborative multidisciplinary care team. You will support patients through consultation, surgical planning, and post-operative follow-up playing a critical role in their recovery journey. Our Neuroscience Department serves patients at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and the Outpatient Physician’s Center in Oconomowoc, completing approximately 400 to 500 outpatient visits monthly. You will gain exposure to high-acuity, specialty-level care while maintaining a consistent daytime schedule. This role primarily supports Neurosurgery providers and requires travel to PHMG clinic locations including Brookfield, Waukesha, Oconomowoc, Hartland, and Mukwonago to ensure seamless patient care across sites. The Clinical Support Associate (LPN/MA/EMT) performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of patients. Some of the job responsibilities include: preparing exam room; ensure sufficient stock of supplies, materials, and instruments; room patients and obtain vital signs; request and record health history; and ensure accurate and timely documentation into the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or other patient records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Current state license required for those who completed the LPN education program.
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) certification preferred but not required for those who completed the Medical Assistant education program or Completion of an accredited LPN education program or Documented completion of the United States Military Medical Corpsman program
  • BLS (CPR)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for specialty neurosurgical visits by obtaining vital signs, reviewing medications, and documenting accurately in Epic.
  • Support providers during consultations and follow-up appointments.
  • Assist with coordination of surgical cases, referrals, imaging follow-up, and patient education.
  • Maintain efficient clinic flow in a fast-paced, procedure-driven specialty environment.
