Job Summary The Allergy Department Associate will be primarily responsible for checking insurance eligibility and referral requirements for appointments and in-office services. As an associate you will directly assist patients, providers, and medical staff with scheduling needs and other patient-related tasks.

Requirements

1-year medical assistant experience preferred
Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- Required
Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (BLS/CPR)- Required (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

Bring patients from the waiting room into exam rooms.
Obtain and record vital signs in the electronic medical record.
Assist with intake of medical history, medications, and drug allergies.
Perform in office procedures including allergy skin testing, spirometry, immunotherapy injections, and biologic administration.
Communicate efficiently with all staff members.
Provide patient education.
Obtain prior authorizations for medications
Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
Assist with faxes and phone calls.
