Medical Assistant Rotating Shifts
About The Position
With over 60 years of service to the community as the premier imaging center in Tallahassee, we continue to grow and thrive. We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This is a full time, benefits-eligible position. This is a full time, 40 hour per week position with 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday between 6a and 9p and occassional Saturdays. Some call will also be required. This position includes: Excellent health coverage (CHP) with low monthly employee premiums 10.3% 401K/Pension contribution with no match requirements 23 days of paid time off accrued during first year of employment 45% shift differential for hours after 6p 50% shift differential for weekend hours GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for assisting in patient care duties as related to MR and physician demands.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Knowledge of health care field.
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of MRI patients for their respective examinations.
- Reads patient notes and follows patient safety screening instructions.
- Forwards the patient to appropriate personnel concerning questions about procedures.
- Dressing of patient appropriately for their MRI procedures.
- Preparation and assistance of all hospital inpatients for their MRI studies and assisting them with the completion of their paperwork if necessary.
- Assist patient escorts (nurses, sitters) with care of hospital inpatients.
- Assist technologists with moving and lifting of patients, assisting patients to the restroom, and any other patient care duties as needed.
- Stocking and organization of all work area, to include all MRI scan rooms, patient holding areas, storerooms, et cetera.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
