About The Position

Under clinical supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment according to policies and procedures and Logan Health (LH) MAU/UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) scope of practice. Provides administrative support and works collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, LPNs and other department staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Requirements

  • Current Registered or Certified Medical Assistant credential (RMA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • Current Health Care Provider CPR certification preferred or must be successfully completed prior to completion of orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a practice setting preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
  • Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, and pharmacology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support physicians and advanced practice clinicians during patient exams and clinical procedures.
  • Prepare patients by collecting vital signs, medical histories, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
  • Perform laboratory collections, assist with point-of-care testing, and support minor procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate appointments, referrals, and diagnostic workflows.
  • Assist with patient communications, phone calls, and portal messages.
  • Deliver patient-focused care with professionalism, compassion, and adherence to safety standards.
