About The Position

The Medical Assistant (MA) will join an energetic team in a neurosurgery clinic, striving for excellent care for patients with complex neurological conditions. MAs contribute expertise in monitoring vital signs, observing neurological changes, and assisting with patient assessments to help detect complications early. Their dedication to professional development and specialized training makes them an invaluable asset, improving both patient outcomes and clinic efficiency. The role functions within administration pre-defined scope of practice guidelines per state location. Sanford Health seeks a dedicated, detail-oriented, adaptable, caring, and team-focused Medical Assistant to assist nursing staff and providers in delivering high-quality patient care in a positive environment, making a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Certification (CMA) obtained through a nationally approved certification program for medical assistant, including but not limited to: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), etc.
  • Registration (RMA) obtained through the American Medical Technologists (AMT) also acceptable
  • North Dakota (ND) registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing (if working in ND, with 4 months to obtain if not held at hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
