About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join their energetic Neurosurgery Clinic team. This role is crucial for providing excellent care to patients with complex neurological conditions. Medical Assistants function within pre-defined scope of practice guidelines, assisting nursing staff and providers to deliver high-quality patient care in a positive environment. They are expected to monitor vital signs, observe neurological changes, and assist with patient assessments to help detect complications early. The ideal candidate is adaptable, caring, and team-focused, with the ability to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives. The position emphasizes professional development and specialized training to improve patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA) through a nationally approved certification program (e.g., AAMA, CCMA, CMAC, NCMA) or registration (e.g., AMT)
  • For North Dakota (ND) positions, registration as an MAIII through the ND Board of Nursing is required (4 months to obtain if not held at hire)
  • For North Dakota (ND) positions, if MAIII registration is not held at hire, must also be registered on the ND Board of Nursing UAP Registry
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment, with re-certification as required
