About The Position

As a Medical Assistant (MA), you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Medical Assistant - is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program of study through an accredited medical assistant program that includes class work, medical terminology coursework, and clinical instruction or 2 or more years of current, clinically relevant work experience in a physician office or clinic setting.
• If hired, successful completion of in-house competency-based orientation program within 90 days of employment.
• Recent graduate from a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces or its equivalent during U.S. military services within the past five years or Prior experience in one of the following roles: Paramedic, EMT, or CNA
• Graduate of an MA Clinical Training program or externship program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, basic business office skills, clinical skills, and computer skills.
• BCLS / CPR certification

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nursing Program (LPN).
• Medical Assistant Certification, CMA or RMA, or NRCMA
• Paramedic License
• Licensed Practical Nurses- are preferred in some practices based on the nature of the work.
• Three+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals
• Giving injections and immunizations
• Performing office tests
• Administrative duties
