About The Position

We are seeking a friendly and organized Medical Assistant to join our ENT office, a patient-centered practice in Richardson, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity to work in an outpatient environment with a schedule supportive of work-life balance. This position assists physician with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. In addition, the position is responsible ensuring an adequate quantity of medical and office supplies are always on hand, making sure exam rooms are stocked, and assisting the Office Coordinator. North Dallas Ear Nose and Throat, PA cares for a spectrum of health issues related to a patient's head, neck, ears, nose, and throat located in Richardson, Texas. We treat a variety of conditions including allergy problems, conditions of the nose, throat and sinuses, hearing problems, as well as head and neck issues. We are equipped to see all populations from pediatric to geriatric patients. 99 Healthcare Management is a Dallas-based physician practice management company. We help healthcare providers focus on their core skills – delivering high-quality care to their patients - by providing oversight and support for all administrative functions. Our service areas include human resources, accounting, marketing and business development, provider credentialing, and revenue cycle management. The practices we manage range in size and specialty and include internal medicine, family medicine, pain management, cardiology, ENT, and more.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Certificate of completion from accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • EMR experience also required

Responsibilities

  • Verify benefits and insurance eligibility for patient surgery
  • Schedule patient surgeries
  • Scan and maintain appropriate paperwork for patient appointments and insurance verification
  • Check schedules and organizing patient flow
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure room
  • Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
  • Collect patient history
  • Perform screenings per provider guidelines
  • Assist physicians/nurses with various procedures
  • Answer calls and providing pertinent information
  • Set up instruments and equipment according to protocol
  • Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
  • Restock exam/procedure rooms
  • Share problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisors quickly
  • Prescription refills
