About The Position

A Medical Assistant resident with no prior medical assistant experience learns to work as a medical assistant in a clinical setting. Medical Assistant – Residents learn from Clinicians, Nurses, and Medical Assistants while on the job. This role is accountable for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, involving patients with acute and chronic needs. The resident will communicate clearly with patients through various modalities, including telephone and in-person interactions. As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical team, ensuring patients receive the best care. Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (must be obtained prior to start date for Medical Assistant role).
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience OR current RN/LPN license.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to work as a medical assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Provide care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting.
  • Care for patients with acute and chronic needs.
  • Communicate clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Assist the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to collaborate on patient care.
