Medical Assistant - Medical Specialties 40 hour day shift
About The Position
The Medical Assistant position is part of the growing BILH team, working in a brand new location in Londonderry within Ambulatory Medical Specialties, which include Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Otolaryngology, Electrophysiology, Hem-Onc, and more. Under the general supervision of the Practice Administrator, Director of Site Operations, or an assigned Nurse Manager/Site Manager, the Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect care to a specified group of adult patients in various ambulatory settings. This role involves collaborating with physicians, other healthcare providers, and ambulatory support staff to deliver comprehensive patient care. The Medical Assistant performs all functions within their scope of practice in a medical setting, including telephone triage and patient care duties in specialties like Endocrinology.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- B.L.S. required.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Office or outpatient experience preferred.
- Medical Assistant Certificate preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect care to a specified group of patients in a variety of ambulatory settings.
- Work in collaboration with the physician(s), or other health care provider(s), other ambulatory support staff within the department and with other disciplines to deliver patient care.
- Perform all medical assistant functions in a medical setting for adult patients.
- Be responsible for telephone triage.
- Render patient care within the scope of their training, including obtaining vitals, height, weight, SPO2 and blood pressure on all patients and documenting appropriately into patient’s chart.
- Assist physicians with minor procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms and restock supplies.
- Coordinate patient care with other providers and/or facilities.
- Perform duties within their scope of practice in ambulatory medical specialties, including Endocrinology.
