About The Position

Medford Radiology is looking for a full time-time Medical Assistant to join our team. We're a busy Interventional Radiology practice, providing patients excellent patient care in a range of minimally invasive, image-guided medical procedures that can diagnose and treat various conditions. This position would work 2 days out of the week and be day shift. Medford, Oregon, is nestled in the heart of the picturesque Rogue Valley in southern Oregon, surrounded by the Siskiyou and Cascade mountain ranges. The Rogue River nearby, is known for its world-class fishing, rafting, and hiking activities. The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Interventional Radiology (IR) team and ensuring smooth operations. Their responsibilities include assisting providers with office consults and IR procedures. Additionally, they provide administrative patient support. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care. Compensation: Hourly range is $18.83 - $27.69 The hourly wage is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to direct job-related experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and employment status.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical assistant certification preferred or ability to acquire certification within 2 years
  • Healthcare experience required
  • Medical assistant experience preferred
  • To protect providers, employees, and patients of Radia from contracting COVID-19 and to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Radia requires that all Health Care Setting Workers receive a COVID-19 vaccination, subject to the exemptions. New hires will be required to present written proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a written request for an Exemption within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison between the interventional providers, referring provider offices, hospital imaging staff, scheduling, and vendors ensuring that all necessary information is communicated to appropriate parties accurately and professionally to deliver quality patient care.
  • Collaborates with IR providers, referring physicians, clinical associates, hospital staff and Radia employees to facilitate productivity and patient care.
  • Acquires all necessary documentation and information from referring providers, patients, and insurance plans to facilitate patient care.
  • Assists with scheduling clinic visits and clinic procedures.
  • Assists providers with patient care as needed.
  • Enters patient demographics and medical information into EMR database.
  • Maintains an up-to-date database.
  • Communicates positively and effectively with patients, referring providers, Interventionalists, hospital staff, insurance carriers, and members of the Radia team.
  • Processes and handles patient information confidentially in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and partner facility policies.
  • Consistently re-evaluates workflow process to improve patient care and information flow across the continuum of care.
  • Works with leadership to develop a plan professional development.
