About The Position

We are a busy Dermatology practice in Rutland, Vermont seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Medical Assistant to join our team. Greeting patients and answering phones. Posting payments. Demographic and insurance entry/edit. Appointment scheduling. Medical records, processing referrals and any other duties assigned. Maintaining a clean, neat and hygienic work area. Ensure accurate documentation in chart according to office protocols. Utilize Electronic Medical Record system Assists physicians by performing administrative and clinical duties Interviews patients to obtain their medical history. Records patient medical history, vital statistics, and test results in patient medical files. Cleans and sterilizes medical equipment and instruments. Assists physicians during examination by handing over instruments and materials. Cleans treatment rooms following patient examinations. Demonstrate a commitment to maintain work practices that comply with established office policy and procedures. Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and peers. Oversee and ensure that patients’ needs are met and that patients are served in an efficient and patient friendly manner Respond to staff doctor needs before, during, and after patient exam Answer incoming telephone calls, greet and check in patients in a professional, courteous, and timely manner

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills in person and on the phone.
  • Must be friendly, professional and well organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent computer skills

  • Minimum: 1 to 5 years of work experience in a medical setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service 1 year (preferred)
  • Preferred experience with Electronic Medical Record EHR
  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma or Associate degree preferred
