Medical Assistant - Triage/Intake Coordinator
About The Position
Full-time position open for a Medical Assistant in our Triage Department. JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Triage is responsible for prepping the charts for the clinical staff • Vitals (weight, temperature and blood pressure are performed on every patient) • Responsible for updating pertinent clinical information (medical history, medications, allergies and surgery history) • Escorting patients from the lobby to triage and then to the appropriate sub waiting area We have a large population of elderly patients, you will be responsible for assisting and navigating patients with walkers, and wheelchairs to Triage and through the clinic. Attention to detail when entering or updating medical information and medicines into the EHR system
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Needs to pass a basic background check for criminal history, & OIG exclusions
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently when required / appropriate
Nice To Haves
- At least 2 years’ experience in the medical field is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology experience and EMR knowledge preferred
