About The Position
The Buckeye Ranch is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Residential Treatment Program. The Medical Assistant ensures that The Buckeye Ranch maintains a client and family centered, customer service focus within the Residential Nursing department. The Medical Assistant provides care for the comfort and well-being of clients, including giving prescribed medications and treatments according to approved policy and procedures. The Residential Campus, a division of The Buckeye Ranch, offers behavioral health and child welfare programs across a wide continuum of care. We proudly serve over 5,000 children and families annually, with a strong foundation in family centered, trauma-informed care. Schedule: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Mon – Fri, 8am – 4pm) Fully In Office
Requirements
- You have at least a high school diploma or GED.
- You are a certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
- You have one year of Medical Assistant experience.
- You have an active driver license and insurance.
Responsibilities
- Supports the coordination of transportation to and from client medical appointments as assigned.
- Completes medication counts within residential programs as assigned.
- Inventories and maintains supplies for nursing offices and first aid kits.
- Provides basic first aid and emergency care to youth and staff and then advises supervising RN.
- Evaluates illnesses and reports findings to supervising RN. Follows up as needed, monitors and/or administers medications as prescribed under the directions of a RN.
- Assists in health screens and reports findings to RN.
- Orders supplies and equipment and picks up as needed.
- Performs clerical duties related to nursing work.
- Transports clients to external medical appointments
