Medical Assistant/Technician Medical Surgical - Multispecialty Practice - Queens Medical Group Medical Assistant performs a variety of clinical and clerical functions, in accordance with established policies and procedures, to assist the practitioners and management in daily office operations. In this role, you will: Assures the patient is properly prepared for the visit to maintain timely patient flow Observe the patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to the staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in the patient’s records. Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings. Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as physician or registered nurse requested. Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures. Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc. Performs clerical and secretarial work as needed. Interacts with patients and colleagues in accordance with institutional service excellence standards. Performs other job-related duties as required. This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday with varied hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with the possibility of evenings, or weekends as needed. Based at our Forest Hills practice, you may also travel to support other locations, ensuring continuity of care across our network.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required within 30 days of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification through AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT
  • One or more experience as a Medical Assistant.
