About The Position

Scotch Institute of ENT, a division of ENTAAF, is currently seeking a Lead Medical Assistant for a full-time position at their Trinity office. The practice provides comprehensive general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, with patient care as a top concern, offering both diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Medical Assistant who is comfortable with in-office procedures, medical terminology, multitask oriented, motivated, able to handle a high volume of incoming patients, must be a self-starter and willing to learn all aspects of the ENT, Allergy and Audiology field. The main office is located in Wesley Chapel and the sister location is in Trinity (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). Areas of focus include ENT (adult and pediatric), Hearing, Allergies, and Sleep Medicine. The team consists of 4 physicians, a nurse practitioner, and 2 physician assistants.

Requirements

• Minimum one-year HANDS ON Medical Assistant experience required
• Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills
• The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members
• EMR experience
• Strong computer literacy

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual is a plus

Responsibilities

• Creating back-office staff schedule
• Ordering back-office supplies/samples
• Training new MAs
• Answering patient calls
• Taking vitals
• Obtaining authorizations
• Preparing exam rooms
• Assisting the physician in exam rooms for procedures as needed (ie: wax removal, biopsies, surgical procedures, etc)obtaining proper consent and ensuring proper scope of practice is followed
• Calling in prescriptions
• Cleaning and sterilizing instruments in accordance with CDC and ENTAAF guidelines
• Provide briefing of each patient prior to physician entering the exam room
