About The Position

Ideal Option has been working on the front lines of the opioid epidemic since its first clinic opened in 2012, with more than 80 clinics across 9 states. The company aims to be the nation’s leading provider of low-barrier, evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder, valuing both patients and employees. They are seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join their team to help give back lives, reunite families, and heal communities suffering from substance use disorder. A successful candidate will be an experienced professional who is compassionate about quality patient care, delivers excellent customer service, possesses impeccable time management and computer skills, is non-judgmental, empathetic, and holds high ethical standards. The ability to communicate effectively with patients and adapt to individual needs is important. The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist is responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient clinic operation, supporting clinic providers and patients through various tasks related to patient care, clinic maintenance, front office responsibilities, and maintaining communication with other Ideal Option departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED necessary
  • Proof of diploma or GED will be required
  • Maintain MA licensing through the state/agency (as applicable per state)
  • Maintain BLS/CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • CMA or National Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clinical support to ensure efficient clinic operation
  • Support clinic providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care, clinic maintenance, front office responsibilities
  • Maintain communication with other Ideal Option departments
  • Check patients in for their appointments
  • Confirm and update patient’s demographics
  • Obtain release of medical records from the patient
  • Collect co-pays from the patient and make nightly deposits at the bank
  • Obtain vital signs and breathalyzers from the patient
  • Collect urine samples and prepare for laboratory testing
  • Witness patients for observed dosing and observed urine
  • Perform skin assessments
  • Draw patient blood samples
  • Maintain cleanliness of the clinic
  • Order cleaning supplies as needed by the clinic
