About The Position

Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant Position Highlights: Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant Location: Northfield, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: We are a 7 day operation we are open Monday -Friday 7am-7pm Saturday and Sunday 8am-5pm Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
