About The Position

Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant- Pediatrics Position Highlights: Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant Location: Vernon Hills, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30am-4pm with rotating weekends Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need What you will do: Answer phones Schedule appointments Collect co-payments Complete patient registration Provide other administrative support to the physician practice Check in and check out patient Verify insurances Greet patients and escort them to exam room Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit Provide front office support as needed Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
  • One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
  • On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
  • previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.
