About The Position

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join their Adult Primary Care Team at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services across various specialties, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of patient care functions under the direction of physicians and mid-level providers.

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
  • At least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
  • Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Greets & escorts patient to exam room.
  • Obtains & records vital signs into the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Maintains a safe & clean environment for the patient.
  • Maintains equipment & supplies.
  • Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families & coworkers.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
