Medical Assistant (MA) - OPD Adult Primary Care Team II
About The Position
Hartford HealthCare, Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network, is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join their Adult Primary Care Team at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. The Medical Assistant will perform a variety of patient care functions under the direction of physicians and mid-level providers, contributing to a safe and clean environment and maintaining effective interpersonal relationships.
Requirements
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below.
- At least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
Responsibilities
- Greets & escorts patient to exam room.
- Obtains & records vital signs into the Electronic Medical Record.
- Maintains a safe & clean environment for the patient.
- Maintains equipment & supplies.
- Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families & coworkers.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
