About The Position

This is a full-time Medical Assistant II position located in Petersburg, VA. The role is within a high-volume, team-oriented practice and involves performing various nursing procedures as directed by a clinician, managing medical supply inventory, assisting with quality assurance, participating in continuing education, and ensuring efficient patient flow. The employer, CVHS, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making the position eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.   • Certification achieved by passing a National exam from a program other than the MA school
  • Proof of re-certification, if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • One year’s experience in a health facility
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • May be assigned lab duties
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
