About The Position

ChristianaCare is hiring a full time Medical Assistant II for a Supportive Palliative practice in Newark, DE. As a medical assistant, you will assist providers in patient examinations and treatments, perform clinical and clerical duties, and deliver quality patient care through virtual and on-site appointments. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30p

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program and hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or obtain within three months of hire
  • Two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, is required

Responsibilities

  • Greet and support patients both virtually and on-site within the practice
  • Prepare patients for on-site visits
  • Perform point of care testing, injections, medication administration, and EKGs
  • Assist clinicians with examinations and procedures
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment
  • Complete patient-specific paperwork
  • Handle patient call backs
  • Schedule stat tests, procedures, and surgeries
  • Perform quality control on POCT equipment
  • Provide documentation assistance for providers
  • Troubleshoot patient issues with video visits
  • Support patients in joining ChristianaCare's Patient Portal
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Adhere to departmental safety rules and practices
  • Report any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations to the supervisor
