About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 60% Medical Assistant II to work in our OBGYN North Dodge Clinic. Duties to include: Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients. In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse. Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned. Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

• Certification OR registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, OR
• Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology (include educational transcripts during application process)
• Applicants must upload a resume (under submission relevant materials) that clearly address how they meet the listed required and desired qualifications of this position.
• Candidates must upload copy of their educational transcripts if they are not certified/registered as a Medical Assistant or if they have not completed a Medical Assistant Program.
• Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any conviction history and will be subject to a criminal background check and credential/education verification.
