About The Position

University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 60% Medical Assistant II to work in our OBGYN North Dodge Clinic. Duties to include: Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse. Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients. In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse. Performs patient care related to vital signs, lab draws, setting up and assisting with minor procedures, in-clinic treatments, point of care testing and other duties as assigned. Provides psychological support to the patient and family based on assessed needs. Other duties as assigned.
