About The Position

The Medical Assistant II at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by providing exceptional patient care and administrative assistance. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of clinical procedures and enhancing patient experience through compassionate service and efficient coordination.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and assisting with examinations.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and instruments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a focus on patient care and support.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and patient care activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health or mental health facilities is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers in delivering patient care, including preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, drawing blood, and administering medications under the supervision of a healthcare professional.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to schedule appointments, manage referrals, and communicate patient needs.
  • Provide patient education and support, addressing inquiries and concerns to promote understanding and compliance with treatment plans.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering and stocking medical supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
