About The Position

The Medical Assistant II position is a full-time role located in Farmville, VA, within a high-volume, team-oriented practice. Responsibilities include performing age-appropriate patient tasks, managing medical supply inventory, assisting with equipment selection, and executing nursing procedures as directed by a clinician (excluding certain injections, triage, IVs, and IV medications). The role may also involve lab duties, quality assurance, and participation in continuing education. Candidates should possess dedication to detail, respect for patient confidentiality, a pleasant and flexible demeanor, strong communication and teamwork skills, and experience with medical office systems, supplies, equipment, and clinical competence.

  • Proof of re-certification, if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • One year’s experience in a health facility, preferred.
  • Current CPR certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tasks pertinent to age of patient (infancy to geriatric)
  • Maintains accurate inventory of medical supplies; assists in the selection of division equipment and supplies.
  • Performs all nursing procedures (with the exception of certain injections, triage, IVs and IV medications) as directed by the clinician according to the guidelines in the Nursing Procedure Manual.
  • May be assigned lab duties
  • Assists in quality assurance and control.
  • Participates in the continuing educational process.
  • Assists in the efficient flow of patients.
  • Attends work as scheduled.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
