About The Position

The Medical Assistant Urgent Care is cross-trained to perform a blend of administrative and clinical duties while working closely with providers, the office supervisor, and the practice manager. This role delivers professional, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Program Medical Assisting
  • In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health within 6 months of hire
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) within 6 months of hire
  • Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 6 months of hire
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants within 6 months of hire
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) within 6 months of hire
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) within 6 months of hire
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) within 6 months of hire
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS) within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care in outpatient clinics—take vitals and histories, document visits, give vaccines and meds, draw blood, run tests, and help with medication reconciliation under supervision.
  • Receive and document requests from internal and external customers, and respond professionally by phone, electronic message, or in person.
