About The Position

The position involves preparing and maintaining exam rooms, preparing charts, obtaining reports and records, assisting with patient flow, and ensuring the overall smooth running of the clinical office. The role includes direct interaction with patients in a clinic setting, completing clinical tasks such as obtaining vital signs, conducting EKGs, performing phlebotomy, and verifying medications. Responsibilities also include preparing for office hours, assisting with examinations and procedures, and managing patient communications and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with six months of related work experience.
  • Medical Assistant credentials must be obtained from in-person proctored exams.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.

  • 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Skills in anatomy, clinical care, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Interact directly with patients in clinic setting and complete clinical tasks.
  • Obtain vital signs, conduct EKGs, complete phlebotomy, and verify medications.
  • Prepare for office hours by obtaining charts, scheduling tests, and preparing exam rooms.
  • Assist with examinations, procedures, and lab tests.
  • Assist with renewal and authorization of non-narcotic medications per standing orders.
  • Administer medications under the order of physicians or nurse practitioners.
  • Direct patient flow and assist with special procedures/treatments.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Answer basic questions from patients/families regarding treatments, diagnosis, and procedures.
  • Monitor supply inventory and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Clean and stock exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
  • Maintain required HIPAA compliance and participate in continuing education.
