About The Position

Primary Care at Linden Hill is looking for a Medical Assistant I. Primary Care at Linden Hill is located at 100 South Riding Boulevard, 2nd Floor in Wilmington, Delaware. Primary Care at Linden Hill provides comprehensive medical services for adults and children, including gynecology, women's health, vaccinations, physical examinations, preventive medicine, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions. As a Medical Assistant I , you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within the medical practice. Linden Hill | ChristianaCare Office Hours: Monday & Wednesday from 7am to 7pm one late night is required per week from 10am to 7pm Tuesday & Thursday from 7am to 7pm Friday from 7am to 4:30pm

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting patients both virtually and on-site
  • Rooming patients
  • Preparing patients for visits by taking and recording vital signs
  • Performing point of care testing
  • Administering injections and medications
  • Conducting EKGs when needed
  • Supporting clinicians during examinations and procedures
  • Preparing treatment rooms with essential supplies
  • Completing patient-specific paperwork
  • Ensuring that electronic medical records (EMR) are up to date with relevant test results for subsequent visits
  • Handling patient callbacks with information as directed by providers
  • Following state guidelines for the sterilization of medical equipment
  • Managing prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills
  • Scheduling tests and surgeries
  • Performing quality control on point of care testing equipment
  • Offering documentation assistance during provider examinations and procedures
  • Undertaking clerical tasks as assigned by supervisors
  • Troubleshooting issues with video visits
  • Helping patients utilize ChristianaCare’s Patient Portal
  • Working safely, adhering to departmental safety rules, and promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or violations that could potentially harm patients, staff, or visitors
