About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for their General Surgery team. This role involves a blend of administrative and clinical responsibilities, including maintaining patient records, preparing patients and examination rooms, assisting physicians during exams, and handling front-desk duties. Harrison County Hospital has been a healthcare provider for Harrison County since 1950, and has expanded its services to a growing population in Harrison and Crawford counties in Indiana, and Meade County in Kentucky, continuously recruiting highly qualified hospital and medical staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Ability to work independently and with groups
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Annual CPR recertification
• Ability to operate office equipment: computer, printers, fax machine, copy machine, telephone
• Good knowledge of medical terminology
• Use of correct terminology, spelling and grammar in documentation
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with various healthcare professionals, patients, families, and employees

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant Degree Preferred
• 1 year of experience Preferred
