Medical Assistant – Gastroenterology (Gastro) Location : Boardman, Ohio Type: Full-Time (Monday–Friday) At Southwoods, it’s not just about the treatment, but how you’re treated. Join a premier care team in 2026. Southwoods Health is seeking a professional and dedicated Medical Assistant to support our Gastroenterology practice in Boardman. In this role, you will partner with physicians and clinical staff to provide high-quality, comprehensive care to our patients.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active certification (RMA, CMA, or CCMA).
• At least one (1) year of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Room patients, verify identity using two identifiers, and accurately record vitals, medications, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Collect and process specimens according to strict protocols and ensure timely transport; promptly report critical lab values to providers.
• Assist with scheduling, phone triage, and medical record maintenance to ensure a seamless patient experience.
• Maintain a friendly, professional environment while upholding patient rights and meeting all regulatory agency standards.
