About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our gastroenterology clinic team. The ideal candidate will provide support to healthcare professionals in delivering patient care, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction and care.

Requirements

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as the American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or National Healthcare Association.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • No work experience required if a graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Previous experience using personal computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Previous experience in an academic healthcare environment.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and handling patient inquiries.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Educate patients about procedures, medications, and special diets under supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
