Job Description: Medical Assistant- Float (Urology Practice) Location: Brooklyn & Staten Island, NY Hours/Days: 5 8.5 Hour Shifts; Monday - Friday (between 7-7) Organization: New York Health (NYH) - Urology In this role, you will: Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording. Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests. Record patients' vital signs. Prepare patients for examinations. Sterilize medical equipment and instruments. Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process. Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures. Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
  • Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Proficiency with an EMR system
