About The Position

Overall Purpose The Float Medical Assistant is responsible for providing both clinical and administrative support across various clinic locations within the P3 Medical Group. This position will serve as a flexible resource, offering staffing coverage where needed—including rural and urban clinics—ensuring continuity of care and clinic operations. When not providing in-clinic support, the Float MA will perform administrative duties from the Seven Hills clinic. This position is crucial in supporting P3’s mission to improve outcomes, enhance patient and provider experience, and lower the cost of care. Work Location & Schedule Home base: Seven Hills clinic Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5/8s (8 hours per day) Travel: Required throughout the Medical Group footprint, including rural areas

Requirements

  • Strong adaptability and willingness to work in various clinical environments
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to function both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • High level of accountability and reliability
  • Demonstrates problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical protocols, and EMR systems
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • 2+ years clinical experience, preferably in a managed care setting
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training program or equivalent work experience
  • Current BLS Certification (required)
  • MA certification required (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
  • Reliable transportation is required for travel to various clinic locations
  • Must be comfortable with occasional last-minute schedule or location changes

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a float or multi-site position is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with EMRs and quality-based care initiatives
  • National MA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of P3 Health Partners
  • Provides clinic coverage as assigned, including rural and high-need locations
  • Verifies and documents patient information, medical history, vital signs, and reconciles medications
  • Performs clinical procedures including venipuncture, ear lavage, medication administration, specimen handling
  • Supports administrative tasks: pursuit lists, chart preparation, gap closure outreach, patient callbacks, staff box coverage, etc.
  • Ensures accurate and timely documentation in EMR systems
  • Upholds patient confidentiality and complies with regulatory and legal standards
  • Maintains readiness of medical supplies and equipment across assigned clinics
  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, and strong time management in a changing environment
  • Participates in team meetings and quality improvement efforts across the Medical Group
