Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS/CPR Certification required.
  • Up to one year experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Basic front desk, clerical or healthcare support specialist skills/experience.
  • Ability to work with clinical staff, works well under pressure, and multitask within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to the concepts of preventive health care and team approach to health care delivery.
  • Experience working with computers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Up to three years experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient interviews to gather medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Accurately document patients' medical history, vital statistics, and test results in medical records.
  • Collect and prepare specimens such as blood and tissue for testing.
  • Assist physicians during examinations by providing instruments and performing tasks like injections and suture removal.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are clean and adequately stocked with supplies.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and document patient care accurately.
  • Engage with clients over the phone to discuss test results and health concerns.
  • Participate in programs like Hazard Communication and Accident Prevention to ensure OSHA compliance.
  • Contribute to the Performance Improvement Program and promote a respectful, collaborative environment.
  • Foster a team-based approach to care within the primary care medical home model.
  • Attend required safety training and stay informed about safety protocols.
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain work area according to Legacy and government standards.
  • Report safety concerns and implement control measures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, always prioritizing patient and team well-being.
