About The Position

Wellspire Medical Group is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with Endocrinology experience to join our growing team. This role supports providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), highly organized, proficient in eClinicalWorks (eCW), and experienced in managing patients with endocrine disorders such as diabetes, thyroid conditions, hormonal imbalances, and metabolic disorders.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent) preferred or required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of Endocrinology experience required.
  • Proficiency in eClinicalWorks (eCW) required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • Strong knowledge of diabetes care and chronic disease management.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with insulin management and continuous glucose monitoring systems (CGMs).
  • Experience with prior authorizations for specialty medications.
  • Knowledge of quality metrics related to endocrine care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining and documenting vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, height, weight, BMI, oxygen saturation).
  • Accurately document medical history, medications, allergies, and chief complaints in eClinicalWorks (eCW).
  • Assist providers with endocrine-related examinations and procedures.
  • Perform point-of-care testing including glucose testing, A1C, urinalysis, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed and within scope of certification.
  • Provide patient education related to diabetes management, insulin administration, thyroid medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Support care coordination for patients with chronic endocrine conditions.
  • Schedule appointments, follow-ups, referrals, and diagnostic testing.
  • Process prescription refills and prior authorizations, particularly for endocrine medications (e.g., insulin, GLP-1 medications, thyroid medications).
  • Respond to patient calls and electronic messages regarding care coordination and treatment plans.
  • Review and prepare patient charts in eCW prior to visits.
  • Coordinate with pharmacies, labs, and specialty providers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support quality reporting and compliance standards.
